EMQ Children & Family Services Names Darrell Evora President and Chief Operating Officer

San Jose, Calif., November 21, 2005

EMQ Children & Family Services, a nonprofit agency dedicated to transforming the lives of children with serious emotional difficulties, announced that Darrell Evora, 51, has been promoted to president and chief operating officer. Jerry Doyle will remain as chief executive officer (CEO) of EMQ.

Evora has served as chief operating officer (COO) at EMQ since December 2001. During his tenure, the organization has continued to grow and expanded into Southern California in the midst of four successive years of state and county budget cuts. EMQ Children & Family Services was recently named the second largest nonprofit in Silicon Valley by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal.

As EMQ has grown over the years to meet the needs of the children we serve, it has become necessary to adjust the structure of the agency, 0 said Jerry Doyle, CEO of EMQ Children & Family Services. Darrell s promotion to president is an acknowledgement of his successful leadership during a challenging time, and a formalization of the way we ve been operating for more than year. 0 Doyle will focus on EMQ board development, fund raising, and policy issuesĞincluding his recent appointment by Governor Schwarzenegger to the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Committee.

Evora began his career at EMQ Children & Family Services in 1994 after a successful career in the high tech industry. In 1999 he was given statewide responsibility for operations and development of Wraparound 0 services that offer strengths-based, individualized treatment and support to troubled adolescents and their families as an alternative to juvenile incarceration.

Before leaving his high technology career, Evora was the vice president of marketing at Network Computing (1989-1993) and Novell (1986-1989). During the high tech boom, Evora returned Santa Clara University where he received his MBA to complete a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology (MFCC) in 1996 with the goal of helping make a difference in children s lives. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
