September 8, 2005Jerry Doyle, chairman and CEO of EMQ, was one of three recipients of the California Council of Community Mental Health Agencies (CCCMHA) Champions for System Change 0 award on Thursday, September 8 at a luncheon in San Francisco, California. The California Mental Health Policy Forum recognized and honored select visionary individuals and organizations in California that have paved the way to achieving the principles envisioned in the Mental Health Securities Act (MHSA). In November, 2004, the MHSA was passed by California voters. This Act was designed to provide funds to counties in order to expand services and develop innovative programs and integrated service plans for mentally ill children, adults and seniors. In addition to Doyle, other recipients of the award included Darrell Steinberg,California legislator; Nancy Pena, director of Mental Health for Santa Clara County; and the California Network of Mental Health Clients, a consumer organization.
