EMQ is dedicated to keeping children safe at home with their families. In cases where a child's personal safety is at risk, the court may ask EMQ's Foster Family Agency (FFA) to place the child with a certified, trained foster family until he or she can be reunified with other healthy family members. The Foster Family Agency will work directly with the immediate and extended biological family to facilitate reunification and permanency. For more information, read about EMQ's Family Finding program.
EMQ FFA programs cover primarily Northern California, as well as Los Angeles County. FFA programs based in Santa Clara and Solano Counties also serve Alameda, Santa Cruz, San Mateo, San Benito, San Francisco, Monterey, Contra Costa, Napa and Merced Counties. EMQ has expanded its services in Santa Clara County to include Intensive Treatment Foster Care.

- What does the FFA do?
EMQ's FFA places children from birth to age 18 in certified foster homes. These children are unable to remain at home with their biological parents. FFA also provides ongoing support services to foster children and families after a child is placed in an EMQ foster home.
- How does a child receive services from the FFA?
A child is referred to FFA by the County Department of Social Services or the Juvenile Probation Department.
